Why a pantry needs this more than an office does

An office knows who its people are — they are on payroll and they come every day. You have a schedule that changes weekly, volunteers who came once last winter, drivers who are in the building for four minutes, and people arriving who you have never met. That is a harder problem, solved worse by a paper sign-in sheet.

Where this fits OSHA

OSHA’s emergency action plan standard (29 CFR 1910.38) requires a plan to include procedures to account for all employees after an evacuation. A paper sheet at the front desk is inside the building you have just left; a live list on a phone is not. Volunteers are not employees under the standard, but no evacuation stops to check.

On the people you serve

You decide whether they sign in at all, and what they are called when they do. EntryWatch lets you name the groups yourself — volunteers, staff, guests, neighbors, drivers, partner agencies — and ask each group only the questions you actually need. If the right answer for the people you feed is that they are not recorded, that is a setting, not a workaround.

No. EntryWatch runs in any modern browser, so a laptop or an old desktop at the door works. If you already own an iPad or an Android tablet, the free kiosk app turns it into a proper sign-in station. A label printer for visitor badges is optional and only if you want one.

Is this for food banks or food pantries? ▾

Both, and the partner agencies that distribute for them. Whether you are a regional food bank with a warehouse or a church pantry open two mornings a week, the offer is the same.

How long is it free for? ▾

Tell us about your organization and we will confirm the terms in writing before you set anything up.

How long does it take to set up? ▾

Most organizations have their first location running in under an hour. If you would rather not do it yourself, we will do it with you on a call.

What happens to the data about people who come to us? ▾

It stays in your own organization record, private to you, and you control how long it is kept — there is a retention setting that deletes old records automatically. It is never shown to the next person signing in.
